Random Dubai musings

So, I'm sitting at Dubai airport, on my way to Amman. On the plane, I was surprised to see Woody Allen's new movie, You will meet a tall dark stranger, being offered. So I just clicked on wikipedia site to read up.

It's blocked.

Why would Dubai block Wikipedia?

Bizarre.

The movie was ok, it was a lot of small segments, not enough character development, but diverting enough. Freida Pinto was horrible (as many expected), and had no chemistry with Josh Brolin. Antonio Banderas looked old and weary. But in general, in Woody Allen movies, male characters look haggardly and desperate, perhaps for comic effect.

Oh, and I just bought The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I heard such good reviews, couldn't wait.

And now for some much needed nap.
