Jajabor shots

This photo is from December, but I didn't put this up on my blog before. No matter where you are, a touch of your own motherland always cheers you up. I was walking along in Herat, and ran across this sign, and was so excited that I took four copies of the signboard.

Within two minutes after I took this photo, I met two random bangladeshis walking on the street talking in Bangla, and felt like home.

This photo is from today on my way to the Ministry. The Kabul river, near Pashtoonistan Square was flowing now that the ice has melted, and one brave soul was washing his clothes in the river. The first time I saw the river, I laughed out loud, because it looked nothing like any river in Bangladesh. Even a dying river in Bangladesh has more water and flow. But I learned to love it when i saw it completely frozen in January.

My favorite signboard in Kabul. I landed in Kabul, and on my way to the office, this was the first sign I saw, and it is still funny. Apparently, the founder of this wacky research center is a prominent scientist and a social elite. One day, I'll just walk in and try to take a photo with him.

P.S. Jajabor in bangla means nomad. These photos are the random ones I thought of today.
