475. Money isn't everything

I saw three new movies this weekend, Woody Allen's Scoop & Cassandra's Dream, and Chris Weitz' The Golden Compass.

Scoop and Cassandra's Dream were ok, you can't really go wrong with casting Hugh Jackman in any movie. Well, I also bought the Fountain, where Hugh Jackman is dating a banyan tree or something like that, so I might have to go back and revise the previous statement. I'll watch that movie tonight, hopefully.

But I was really bored and disgusted by the Golden Compass, which had a supposedly $180 million production budget. The special effects were seamless and amazing, but the story made no sense whatsoever, the dialogue was crap and acting was just bad. I'll safely skip the other two sequels.

Just another proof, you can't buy brain or creativity with money.
