My office internet connection has been really spotty for the last two/three days. I yelled at the IT guys this morning, and was told that some router problem will continue like this up to next week. So, I guess I'll have to blog from home.I got this pic from Naheeyan last night, he treated us to dinner to celebrate our new jobs. He took this picture at IBA library when we were studying for capital budgeting. And in this picture with me is Akhlaq bhai, who is significantly responsible for me finishing my MBA with a respectable GPA.
Akhlaq bhai is a civil engineer, a math genius, and one of the most helpful person around. I used to think that I was a math genius, and then realized that I got through my college quantitative courses because of Esteban and Van Anh, both math majors, so it's never been an innate skill of mine.
I got an A in my math course at IBA because he sat with me in Modhu's canteen five hours before the mid-term and finals and patiently explained all the important problems. He did the same for statistics, HRM, Org Behavior and many other courses. One classic anecdote involves the time when he typed all the lecture notes of Project managment, emailed it to everyone two weeks before mid-term and then realized three days before the exam that no one opened the email, and then sat us down in the library to teach us how to remember important concepts.
He's been through a lot lately, and I always feel guilty that I was unable to help him much through this period because of my own personal drama. But he's someone who's friendship I would cherish for the coming years.
Thanks, Akhlaq bhai, IBA wouldn't have been the same without you.
