The Man, the Myth and Viagra

Well, yours truly is a man, and it's a myth that he has reached the Viagra territory already. Thanks for asking, though. Now that we have crossed the Way too Personal border in the land of Too Much Information, let's move on.

What was I gonna write about? Oh yes, the Sex and the City episode no.20 with this odd title. This is not my most favorite episode, but the last scene is probably one of my most favorite. For the S&TC virgins, here's what happens, Miranda meets Steve for the first time, they have a thing, and she can't accept him as someone to continue seeing until the last scene where she has a change of heart at the club, Denial, and she runs out in the rain and kisses Steve. Everytime the music cues, and I see the slow motion of Big coming down the stairs, and Miranda's expression, and her running out, and calling Steve's name, I start tearing up.

This website called 43 Things lists activities we want to do. 8535 people said that they want to kiss in the rain. 95% people think it's worth doing.

There's something about two people kissing in the rain. It's so symbolic, so pure. You just know that they will end up together, and be together forever. MSNBC writes that rain is also wet, like the kiss. Attractive people in clingy clothes. And passion.

Don't believe that? Let's count the famous kissing in the rain scenes (some the MSNBC article reminded me):

1. Four Wedding and a Funeral: Hugh Grant kisses Andy McDowell. She says she didn't notice it was raining, does it count?
2. Spider-man: The upside down kiss in the rain where Mary Jane unmasks Peter Parker
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's: Holly Golightly runs out in the rain to find the no-name cat, and they kiss. No, not the cats.
4. The Notebook: The kiss between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Crappy movie, but boy do they know how to shoot a rain scene.
5. Match Point: Scarlett Johansson runs out of the castle. The hero chases after her. They meet inside the field, and kiss.
6. Sense and Sensibility: Kate Winslet goes out in the rain to look at Willoughby's house. Alan Rickman picks her up on a horse. Hmm, can't remember if they kiss or if he just picks her up. Well, pick ups count too? (It's my blog, I say it does)
7. Witness: Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis. I don't remember much.
8. End of the Affair: Julianne Moore and Ralph Fiennes. They are wet, but were they in the rain?
9. 9 1/2 weeks: Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke goes through a tunnel and engages in what Roger Ebert mentioned as "unnatural" sex in the rain.
10. I'm stumped. Can you all help?
