So Much So fast

I was reading about this new documentary called "So Much So Fast" on Stephen Haywood (pictured here), who was told that he had three years to live because of his ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease), and his family's determination to beat the odds. There's been another documentary titled "His Brother's Keeper", but the trailer for this movie looks really cool. Check this out here.

ALS gets a lot of publicity because of that famous scientist, Stephen Hawkin. And it gets spoofed in enough movies, the image of the perv in the wheelchair with a blow microphone doing a variation on "Hello, Clarice".

But the trailer, and events of this week just put me contemplating what if I had three years to live. How would I live my life? What would be my priorities? What would I just not be able to finish? What should I let go?

I went through this emotional roller coaster this week when all precursors of closure came in fast forward mode: Surprise, amazement, denial, anger, outburst, reconciliation, acceptance and closure. All in one week. And I haven't even hit menopause yet, ha ha.

To quote Whiz Kid Donnie Smith of Magnolia:

I really do have love to give; I just don't know where to put it.
