For S$3 (Tk.120), you get access to a rich diverse art collection. You also get a HP handheld that connects to the exhibits via bluetooth and gives you audio and written description about the artist and the piece. In an amazing technological development, the handheld also lets you bookmark your favorite pieces so that you could access them later online.
Agness Arellano's "Three Buddha Mothers (1996)" sculpture was one of two pieces that spoke to me. You can read more about this sculpture here. She has taken three known images of Buddha, and expressed them using three mothers, the central figure apparently being a self portrait.Mothers as peaceful buddhas? Someone forgot to tell my mum for sure.
