Proletariat to Bourgeois - natural progress?

I was thinking of Karl Marx yesterday. It's not everyday that I think of Marx, I am a card carrying member of capitalism. I was watching the trailer for the new Gregg Araki movie starring my favorite comedian, Anna Faris. It's called Happy Face, and in it, Anna is surrounded by police and she's holding a copy of a stolen Marx book.

Anyways, back to what I was thinking, which is more important (at least for MY blog, mine, mine, mine, muah-ha-ha-ha *evil laughter*). I was wondering if I fall under the proletariat group. There's a running gag at Bob and Sheri show where Bob tries to make a case that he's working class, and listeners call in to remind him that he plays golf, and drinks Chardonnay. I was thinking that I'll never be part of THAT group. I identify three things as the bourgeois men's burden - golf, tennis and cigar. And I don't go for any of them. At least that's what I concluded until this morning.

This morning, I had an epiphany. About 7-8years ago, I visited someone's house who installed a toilet seat warmer. At that point, I thought it was hilarious, and found it obscenely indulgent. But as my derriere touched the cold porcelain surface this morning, and jolted me awake, I thought, gee, those warmers must be cheap enough by now to bring to Kabul. And at that moment, I figured that I've finally joined the ranks of the Bourgeoisie, the ones who need all the material comforts to function in this world.

Well, so far, living in this material world ain't bad. Enjoy the trailer below.
