best of 2007 #3. I come back whole again

The title requires a bit of explanation. When we were visiting the Ming Tombs in Beijing, Lydia, our tour guide, explained that the tombs are considered Yin, or the dark side, and when we cross the gate into the land of the living, we have to chant, "I come back whole again" to properly leave the dead buried.

I played the grim reaper and pulled the plug on my relationship early in the year. It was heart breaking for me, since I was leading toward making a major commitment in July. I can admit now that I was cruel, childish, selfish, and did not play it fair, but at that moment I did the best I could and went with my feelings. And it dragged me to the underworld, to my Yin self. I apologize to those I hurt in the process.

Fortunately, I crossed the gate of the tomb, and in the second half of the year, came back whole again. I entered into another satisfying relationship. I already mentioned in a previous blog entry that I am the luckiest SOB alive. I heard many times in the movies that love redeems all. Let's hope it's true.
