Three of my friends were recently in Rome. When I think of Rome, I don't think of colloseum (sp?) or gladiators, I think of all the movie scenes that taught me what rome is like.I first think of Boca de Verita, Mouth of Truth, where Gregory Peck scares Audrey Hepburn pretending to lose his hand in Roman Holiday, and where Marissa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr reenacts the scene in Only You. The second thing I think of is Trevi Fountain, which Farhana saw, and said that she liked it.
My fascination with Trevi stems from La Dolce Vita. Anita Ekberg, playing a famous American Actress, visits the fountain at night with Marcello Mastroainni, and she immediately jumps into the pool.
I saw La Dolce Vita when I was really young, so I didn't remember much. But I bought the DVD and watched it again, and realized that I didn't get the film at all the first time. The only thing I remembered was this scene, where the two jump in and become carefree.
I badly wanna visit Italy, and I'm hoping that I'd make a trip there within next september. Here's wishing out loud. Let's hope the right souls in the universe answer my prayer.
