299. Shishir and Diya's Daughter

So, here're the first pics of the yet unnamed (not kidding) daughter of Shishir and Diya, two of my closest friends.

I've been friends with both of them since 1981, but because of some funny incidents, they avoid my house like anything (long story), and we end up meeting at restaurants, or their places.

It was the first off-spring after a lot of struggle, so I'm really very happy for them.
When I was a kid, I used to fantasize that I would have six kids of my own, and I picked out names for them. I forgot four of them, but I distinctly remember two of them being Bengoma and Bengomi, names of two fictional birds from local fairy tales, Thakurmar Jhuli. Somehow, when I hit adolescence (14-15), I realized that children are not for me, and I don't really want any of my own.

I've been blessed with very cute nephews and nieces, and feel privileged to spend time with them, but it doesn't stir any paternal chasm for full-time parenthood. And I sincerely hope that this feeling doesn't change.
