I am in love with Google Reader, which has significantly cut down my browsing around time. Well, more that I'm only logging on to GR every five minutes, and not opening 10,000 IE windows like I usually do.

So here's an article from Cognitive Daily that caught my eye. In a research conducted by Kimberley Weaver of Virginia Polytechnic, "hearing one person's opinion repeated is almost as effective as hearing several different people's opinions." This finding shows that hearing an opinion multiple times increases the recipient's sense of familiarity and in some cases gives a listener a false sense that an opinion is more widespread than it actually is. You can read more about the study

The discussion thread around this article
pointed out that the Roman statesman Cato, "usually finished his speeches on any subject in the Senate with the phrase
ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam, which means "Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed"."
So, taking a cue from this, I've been repeating this sentence for over three days now, "I deserve a raise." And so far, I'm very convinced, and I feel that it is a popular opinion.

The pics in this entry are the ones I took over last two weeks, and been meaning to put up for no reason. The cement bags are in Gulshan-1 on my way to work. The ETV crowd met up at Move N Pick ice-cream parlor for some old style gossiping. And the war memorial next to the university was shining bright on a hot afternoon when I took the picture.
Say it with me, "You deserve a raise".
