Bob and Sheri devoted an entire day's program, four hours of it, on this new best-selling book by Joan Sewell titled, "I'd rather eat chocolate: learning to love my low libido". You can read a detailed excerpt here on her site, it's really good. Listeners, both male and female called in every hour explaining how their relationships imploded because of their apathy towards sex. I don't want to go that far, but this week has been my guilt-free food week. And I'm loving every bite of it.
Now that yours truly has succeeded in losing some weight, some food which were a no-no even a few months ago suddenly have become permissible. Well, until I go on my next diet.
On tuesday, I had grilled eel at Samdado, my favorite japanese restaurant. On wed, I had grilled snapper at Koreana, my favorite restaurant in the whole Dhaka. I have yet to have a bad experience there.
On friday, I went with the ULAB crowd to Shikara, one of my favorite restaurants in Uttara. I ordered their steamed snapper, which looked like this tantalizing concoction above. Look at li'l musa's expression, even he was intrigued.
Today, Annabelle and I had a leisurely new year's lunch at Lake Shore. It was a forty course meal, with all sorts of traditional bangla bhartas (mashed stuff). I was telling Annabelle that my dream has come true. I woke up three-four nights ago dreaming about this burnt tomato that my dad used to make about 20-25 years ago, when we first moved in to our Eskaton house (back in 1981). He held the tomato in his hand and got it burnt in the flame of the stove, and then we'd mash it and eat it. I haven't had it since those early days, and now today, they had it. It tasted divine. And better yet, it was free.
After lunch, we walked over to Bon Cafe, and had mocha coffee. I had the ice cold one, Annabelle had the hot one. Bon Cafe really dresses them up, as you can see on the picture.
Up next, dinner with Rica and the gang tonight. More food. Libi-whoa?
