Reunited

Tonight's the first night I saw the Queen of My Universe, Ms. Sara, after Eid. If you compare to pics taken just a month ago, she's grown a lot bigger. She and I have similar haircut now.

Since she can't complain yet, the Queen has been showered with a lot of pink clothing. I continued the tradition, and got her a pink overall from Kolkata. Now I have a matching wristband for myself.

I was walking past a stationary shop in Panjim, Goa at 3.30pm, and saw a bunch of rubber wristbands. At that moment, the pink one spoke to me. I was feeling low, frustrated and somewhat alienated - kinda like stranger in a strange land. But the single word on the wristband kept me going through the day, and into the night. I was still clutching on it at 3am in the morning, and walking home to Baga beach wondering if I could go on. And somehow I did.

The band now accompanies me everywhere. This rubbery thing has a soul of its own. And I can now open my bag, look at the word, put it back, and keep going.

It just says, HOPE. That's all I need to have now.
