Little Miracles - even if you don't pay attention

About two months ago, someone signed me up for a facebook account, one of the millions of social networking sites that I've signed up for, but never keep in touch. I diligently signed up, and never paid attention. Then a Bard alumni, Andy added me as a friend. I haven't seen Andy since 1997, so I decided to Google him to catch up. I found his blog, Andy Writes, which is a great journal, meditating on life, death and philosophy.

But another of the Google entries caught my eye, some page called Bluebird of Happiness.
They were promoting Andy doing a guest lecture. I'm copying the promotional note below. Read and be amazed.

"Andrew holds a BA in Anthropology from Bard College and taught in the Certificate of Ministry Program at New York Theological Seminary. He has worked in Communications, Marketing, Advertising and Grant Programs in New York State. For the last two years he has instructed Yoga and served as a Healer for Dahn Yoga.

ANDREW will be presenting “THE MIRACLE OF DAHN YOGA”
Andrew had Aplastic Anemia, a disease of bone marrow failure, when he first started Dahn Yoga and Brain Respiration over 3 years ago. His body had stopped producing blood cells so he was living off transfusions of other people’s blood. He came looking for gentle exercise to keep his body from getting weak, since he was sleeping 14-20 hours a day. His mother had to help him up the stairs for his initial energy check-up at a local Dahn Yoga center they had found.

After the check-up, the Head Master there said he could heal him. This was surprising, since none of the medical doctors had so much confidence. Yet after two months of classes and healing sessions, he was able to go downhill skiing at a family reunion. His blood counts were still low and doctors said he would need a bone marrow transplant to fully heal, which had a 20-50% chance of killing him.

After a year of hedging, he finally decided to have the bone marrow transplant. He told the doctor to start the process. But he had an interesting response: he said the bone marrow had suddenly started producing cells again, and a transplant wasn’t needed anymore!"
