Scott's Marriage Surprises

I'm a big fan of Scott Adams. Right after reading the Dilbert Principle back in 1995-96, I emailed him and he replied, so now I can claim him to be one of my acquaintances (Scott, relax, no restraining order needed). I've fantasized what it would be like to work in an office like that. Well, after two organizations, I think I know more than I could ever imagined. Be it cost cutting measures, (We can save some money by holding off payments for one day, the interest gathered will be big!! Never mind that if we don't pay, then the program doesn't go on air, and we lose more revenue), or innovative HR policies, our global corporate culture is ridden with catbert, dogbert and other clueless beings.

Anyways, Scott Adams has jumped on the blogging bandwagon, and he continues to impress me. I particularly adored the blog entry, Marriage Surprises, which you can read in his page, The Dilbert Blog, here are some excerpts

"I was watching the news the other day when I see that yet another husband is suspected of killing yet another wife who has gone missing. It’s pretty much automatic to suspect the husband in cases like this. This is one of the factors I had not considered before getting married.

Now every time my wife is 15 minutes late returning from some errand, I start planning my alibi. I take a digital picture of myself standing in front of a live newscast, or I start making phone calls to my mother – that sort of thing.

The worst case scenario is that she drives her car into a ravine and no one finds the remains until I’ve
already been in jail 30 years. That’s why I always encourage her to take the freeway. “Remember, no winding mountain roads, honey!”"
